Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Summary:
The Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) plays a vital role in designing, implementing, and overseeing behavior intervention programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and supervising Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to ensure high-quality service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in evidence-based ABA interventions, a commitment to ethical practice, and excellent leadership and communication skills.
Functions:
Clinical:
Conduct functional behavior assessments and other diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs.
Develop and oversee individualized behavior intervention plans.
Client Services:
Provide one-on-one and group ABA therapy.
Implement strategies to improve communication, adaptive, social, and daily living skills.
Supervision:
Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians in ABA strategies and interventions.
Conduct performace reviews and competency assessments.
Family Support:
Conduct parent/caregiver training to reinforce behavioral interventions in home and community settings.
Maintain open and effective communication with families, schools, and other providers.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
2+ years experience working as a BCBA in a clinical, school, or home-based setting preferred.
Experience with children, adolescents, and young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Certifications:
Active BCBA certification in Virginia.
CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certified.
Work Requirements:
Ability to work in home, school, clinic, and/or community.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, speak, kneel, and other physical activities on a regular daily basis.
