Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Marketing Representative to conduct entry-level marketing assignments for assigned petroleum product department under direct supervision.

Job Duties

(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

• Collects market research to verify price information
• Maintains current client base and evaluates opportunities to expand client base,
• Evaluates assigned petroleum product; monitors petroleum product inventories; monitors daily assigned petroleum product pricing and implements pricing strategies
• Assists other company departments with assigned petroleum product transactions
• Verifies all necessary documentation as it relates to the accounting department for the sale of assigned petroleum product
• Resolves problems relating to the sale of assigned petroleum product
• Represents the company at industry functions and association meetings

May perform some or all of the following depending upon role:

• Coordinates with the Company’s wholesale marketers to achieve marketing goals
• Coordinates with product development and refinery to produce specialized products for a client’s specific needs

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Preferred Experience:

Some experience in assigned petroleum product is preferred. 

Education Level

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business related field, is required. 

Preferred Educational Level:

MBA with an undergraduate degree in chemistry or other technical related field.

Required Skills

Self-starter with drive and ability to achieve planned objectives Ability to perform a variety of assignments as they relate to assigned petroleum product. Entry knowledge of Microsoft products, good oral and verbal communication skills, and ability to multi-task. Ability to perform basic petroleum product marketing assignments effectively. Ability to execute different sale opportunities is essential. Advanced ability to read and write, and an ability to communicate effectively and perform intermediate level mathematical calculations. Depending upon assignment, the ability to understand the chemical/technical characteristics of specialized petroleum products.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in assigned petroleum product is preferred. 

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None.

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 50% travel by land and air required. Subject to varying weather and road conditions. Occasionally will be required to work in an industrial/petroleum refinery environment. Ability and willingness to relocate.
