Douglas and Sharon Weaver started the Douglas J family of companies in 1967 with five employees and a passion for the Salon/Spa industry. They wanted to build a location that could pride itself on exceeding the guests’ expectations with every Douglas J experience. Since the initial opening, Douglas J has gone through 50 years of growth, expansion and evolution. We now have 9 locations including Aveda Institutes, Aveda Concept Salons and our Aveda Salon & Spa. We offer a complete menu of services in hair design and color, skin care, nail therapy, and massage therapy. Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

• Greet guest and provide a thorough consultation
• Provide massage and body treatment services to guests, as listed in the service menu
• Assist in retail recommendations
• Responsible for meeting salon/department benchmarks for retail sales and guest servicing/retention
• Complete and maintain continuing education requirements

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS

:

• State of MI Massage Therapist License required
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
• Superior guest servicing skills
• Experience with Aveda products and services a plus
• Polished, professional image, consistent with the Douglas J Image Principle
• Must be able to work a structured schedule that may include evenings and Saturdays
