We're seeking a dedicated and proactive physician to serve as a Medical Director, providing essential medical leadership and care to residents within skilled nursing facilities. About the Role:
As a Medical Director, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of care for residents in our partner facilities. You'll be part of a team of healthcare experts committed to proactively identifying and addressing patient needs, minimizing hospitalizations, and optimizing overall well-being. This is a remote position with a requirement to visit facilities in Wellsville, New York, at least twice per month.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Director Services (8 hours per month):
Provide expert medical and procedural consultation to residents, adhering to all applicable facility policies, federal, state, and local regulations, including Title 42, Section 483.75(i) of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Advise the Facility Administrator on concerns and opportunities related to the facility's scope of services, including the development of future resident care programs, medical equipment, and staffing needs.
Maintain 24/7 availability for facility emergencies, ensuring prompt and effective response to critical situations.
Actively participate in monthly Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings for at least 10 months of the year, contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate in the development of clinical pathways designed to enhance resident care and optimize patient outcomes.
Support the facility's marketing efforts as requested, promoting the organization's commitment to excellence in care.
Assist the facility in fostering collaborative relationships with other attending physicians, ensuring seamless and comprehensive care for residents.
This is a 1099 Contractor role.
Onsite and Telehealth Support:
Provide comprehensive medical care to residents, utilizing both onsite and telehealth services as needed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Proactively identify and address potential health risks, preventing unnecessary hospitalizations and emergency room visits.
Provide medical support to the facilities.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Board certification in relevant specialty.
Active medical license in the state of New York.
Experience working in long-term care or post-acute care settings preferred.
Strong clinical and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability1 to travel to Wellsville, NY at least twice a month.
