Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Teaching small group reading classes, Kindergarten – Grade Three.
• Observing, assessing, and maintaining records of student performance.
• Administering and coordinating individual and grade-level reading assessments.
• Analyzing assessment data and developing goals for students’ progress.
• Working closely with the Director of Learning Services, Language Arts Curriculum Chair, Reading Coordinator, and teachers to tailor reading instruction for a variety of learners and learning styles.
• Formally communicating students’ progress to parents through semester reports and parent-teacher conferences.

Qualifications and Preferences:

Qualified candidates will have a Master’s Degree specialized in reading and strong teaching experience with students with emerging literacy skills and students with reading disabilities. Orton Gillingham or similar multi-sensory training is preferred. Candidates will have the ability to work and communicate well with faculty and parents; excellent oral and written communication; a commitment to character development; good judgment, patience, and flexibility; and a commitment to the mission of Saint David’s School. 

Salary Range dependent on experience: $69,500 - $113,300 prorated
