Job Summary The Sales Engineer provides a mix of technical expertise, program management and sales development to assigned customers and purchasing strategy to achieve the organization’s short and long-term sales and purchasing goals for assigned product line(s). Maximize profitability and sales positioning of products. This position will provide technical expertise to support customers and grow value added sales. The Sales Engineer is responsible for reviewing, estimating, and quoting of customer specific prints. Additionally, the position will support the overall program and relationships management associated with assigned customers.
Job Description Key Accountabilities: - Contribute to business planning at the senior management level to develop sales and market strategies and plans that are consistent with the organization’s overall mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
- Prepare sales forecasts; establish targets in areas such as product mix, sales volume, market share, or business development and monitor the performance of the organization against these goals; adjust sales strategies and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions.
- Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products and services work.
- Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary.
- Oversee the overall sales budget; monitor the cost and effectiveness of sales and purchasing activities to optimize resources and priorities spending.
- Develop pricing and discount strategies to maximize sales revenue.
- Work with the customers and Engineers to ensure the equipment meets the system requirements
- Liaise with other senior executives across the organization (particularly in marketing and customer service) to ensure that sales strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the business and aligned with the overall corporate objectives.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with external firms that manufacture, distribute, or represent the organization’s products.
- Establish customer rapport and acceptance.
- Plan for modifications to products to meet consumer demands and help clients to solve problems with product usage.
- Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery.
- Makes recommendations to improve processes in the manufacturing area to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective.
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop the organization’s sales force (field and inside sales) to achieve established sales and profit goals.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience plus a 10 years’ experience in sales and management roles.
- Continuing professional development.
- Ability to read prints including understanding of GD&T
- Reliable technical background
- Good marketing skills and business sense

- Ability to build client relationships easily
- Analytical ability and great problem-solving skills
- Presentation skills and ability to convey product value

Job Compensation
$120,000 - $140,000/year (based on experience)
