Job Description

Salary: 101,400 - 183,300 USD per year Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience. Or, a High School Diploma plus fourteen (14) years of general systems engineering experience.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
Responsibilities:
  • As a Senior Software Systems Engineer, I will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse systems based on documented requirements. My responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring all commitments are well defined, documented, reported, designed, provisioned, tested, and appropriately managed and deployed.
  • Creating custom modules/libraries for the Robot framework to assist in test development.
  • Developing Bash or Python scripts to further automate and test in-house software packages.
  • Providing training to software and system engineering teams on in-house software testing packages.
  • Developing agile software development workflows, such as sprints, and using Git for version control.
  • Utilizing JIRA for issue tracking, customer requests, and sprint planning.
  • Performing systems engineering activities and assisting in the preparation of work products in various Technical Process Areas associated with the System Engineering Lifecycle.
  • Analyzing technical alternatives for projects and making preliminary recommendations.
  • Supervising or coordinating the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on projects.
  • Analyzing and proposing appropriate engineering standards and processes for projects.
  • Assisting in developing new or innovative approaches to technical or engineering issues.

I will be part of the Leidos National Security Sector and will work in Columbia, MD. Our program is a large, multi-year contract for the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of large collection systems. The work being done is critical to the government and allows me to work autonomously while exploring new technologies.

In this role, I will focus on hardware and software integration, infrastructure, and provisioning, applying systems engineering principles throughout various lifecycle phases. Interaction with government personnel and other program staff on technical considerations will be crucial, and I will ensure the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of the deliverables associated with the System Engineering Lifecycle.

Preferred qualifications include knowledge of toolsets such as JIRA, Design, Integration and Analysis (DI&A) tools, SAISON, and Robot Framework.

This position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $101,400.00 - $183,300.00, and while this range is a general guideline, actual compensation will consider various factors such as job responsibilities, experience, and market data.
