Position Overview:
As Tasting Room Manager, you will oversee operations at our Queensbury Tasting Room, reporting to the General Manager of Tasting Rooms. You will be critical in building a high-performance team, driving sales, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Collaboration with our Lake George Tasting Room Manager, Company President, and Event Coordinator is key to flawlessly executing public and private events.
This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to train and develop staff in waitstaff, hostessing, customer service, kitchen and bar operations, and advanced sales techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Operations:
•  Meet or exceed sales and payroll goals through effective planning, leadership, and execution.
•  Maintain inventory accuracy, ordering supplies, wine, and retail products to ensure smooth operations.
•  Use Microsoft Excel and our POS systems to track sales, inventory, and performance metrics.
Team Leadership & Training:
•  Hire, train, and develop a team of Tasting Room Associates to provide exceptional guest experiences and achieve sales goals.
•  Design and implement comprehensive training programs for:
o Hostessing skills: Ensuring seamless guest check-ins, reservations, and flow management for peak efficiency and guest satisfaction.
o Sales techniques: Training staff to excel in upselling wine, promoting wine clubs, rewards programs, and increasing average guest check values.
o Customer service excellence: Empowering staff to create memorable experiences that build guest loyalty and reflect our brand values.
o Kitchen and Bar operations: Build a staff who will prepare charcuterie boards and other light foods, as well as create and serve craft cocktails efficiently and accurately. Ensure the back-of-house is clean, organized, and meets health and safety standards.
•  Motivate and mentor staff to consistently meet or exceed sales goals and deliver the highest level of hospitality.
Customer Service Excellence:
•  Lead by example in resolving customer inquiries, processing reservations, and handling orders with professionalism.
•  Develop and maintain strong relationships with guests, particularly wine club members, ensuring top-tier service and engagement.
•  Encourage staff to confidently promote loyalty programs and rewards initiatives to drive repeat business.
Event Support:
•  Collaborate with the Event Coordinator to staff and execute private and public events.
•  Oversee the execution of events, ensuring logistics, staff assignments, and customer expectations are met.
Kitchen and Bar Operations:
•  Master kitchen functions, including food preparation and craft cocktail service.
•  Train staff to operate the kitchen efficiently and ensure adherence to recipes and health standards.
•  Manage several vendor relationships to ensure food and drink components are ordered on time, minimizing waste, maximizing profit and holding inventory accuracy with the utmost importance. A degree of creativity is involved with seasonal ingredients and dishes / drinks.
Collaboration & Communication:
•  Communicate effectively with the General Manager, Lake George Tasting Room Manager, and other team members to achieve goals.
•  Provide feedback and updates to management on operational performance, customer feedback, and training needs.

Qualifications:
•  3+ years of management experience in the restaurant industry (retail or event management experience is a plus).
•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multiple departments.
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook for reporting, costing and more.
•  Proven ability to train and mentor staff in waitressing, hostessing, customer service, retail sales, and kitchen / bar operations.
•  Expertise in developing advanced sales techniques to increase wine sales, club memberships, rewards program sign-ups, and overall guest check value.
•  A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving team success.
•  Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holiday weekends as needed.
•  Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repetitively and work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Work Schedule:
•  Full-time, with a minimum of 40 hours per week (more during peak seasons).
