Position Summary This position is a grant funded position, responsible for supporting the Wildfire Resiliency Training Center operations. The position is responsible for management of training workshops, student advising and recruiting.
Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Develops and directs the short and long-term strategic direction and activities for the Center.
- Oversees the development and dissemination of the course/workshop schedule.
- Provides executive oversight of WRTC Programs.
- Leads the recruitment and hiring of workshop instructors.
- Identifies, schedules, and secures teaching/training sites.
- Evaluates workshop effectiveness and provides strategic improvements.
- Manages and enhances the workshop curriculum.
- Oversees the maintenance and, when necessary, repairs of equipment.
- Strategically manages supply inventories.
- Provides executive-level advising to students.
- Develops and implements student recruitment strategies.
- Engages in continuous professional development to stay ahead in the field.
- Oversees budget management and leads the development process.
- Prepares and presents grant applications and other external reports.
- Represents the Center in community activities and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborates with other college leaders to achieve and support strategic goals.
- Establishes and maintains strong community and stakeholder relationships.
- Performs other executive duties as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sits approximately 25% of time.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSE Best consideration/Apply by date: 9/4/2024- Master's Degree or at least 6 years professional experience in an environmental science or land management field preferred, including but not limited to Environmental Science, Forestry, Rangeland Management, Natural Resource Management, Fire Suppression, Botany, Biology, Hydrology, Wildlife Conservation, Recreational Resource Management, Sustainability, etc. is preferred.
- Experience in environmental science and/or land and/or natural resource management position can be substituted for a college degree in an environmental science or land management field.
- Activity implementation and/or project and program management experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in community/coalition building, program management and grant administration.
